Glossybox – August Edition

Hi everyone, so you may or may not know I have had 2 previous Glossyboxes and I stayed on the subscription list to see what August had in store for me as I had actually been enjoying the contents they were sending me, unlike Birchbox. Find my previous Glossybox reviews here.

So being on a subscription it was £10 for the month, which you can’t moan at. You do pay a small fee for postage too. Delivery is very quick, the order was dispatched on Monday the 6th and arrived on the 8th.

What I enjoy about Glossybox is that they theme every box each month, last month it was a beautiful deep sea theme and this month we have been blessed with pride edition in aid to support the LGBT Foundation.

The packaging is to die for! I feel like Glossy always is a little bit extra with their packaging and presentation, but beware, sometimes when companies make their packaging beautiful it takes our minds away from how bad the contents inside can actually be. Upon opening the box the products are wrapped up with a beautiful rainbow ribbon and there’s also a product description card included. From reading the card, the chosen products are there for you to wear to go out and celebrate pride. Paint the town rainbow!

Products I received:

One thing to note before I tell you what I got, the August edition includes 6 FULL-SIZE products! Which I was shocked at as they usually just put minis/samples inside.

Rimmel Ink Me Heart Stamp Tattoo (Full size) RRP £4.99

Rimmel Ink Me Sticker Tattoos (Full size)RRP £4.99

Victoria’s Secret Pink Sheet Mask (Full size) RRP £5

Trifle Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Jam (Full size)RRP £17.50

Kaleido Cosmetics Astrolight Highlighter (Full size)RRP £13

3INA Shadow Paint (Full size) RRP £8.95

Total Value: £53.43

Pros – I will use 4/6 of the products in this box! I love how this edition is aimed more towards cosmetics than skincare or haircare. You must know how much I love makeup by now so I am pretty happy.

Cons – The shade in the highlight will not suit my pale skin tone but will make use as a liquid eyeshadow. I probably won’t reach for the cheek jam often either, but I am willing to give it a chance. Also, the tattoos from Rimmel is something I probably wouldn’t use either as I’m not going anywhere soon that would be good to wear these.

DISCLAIMER: Reading back this post I sound pro-Glossybox, sometimes I have been disappointed by subscription boxes. If you want to try them make sure you can afford the box in case you really don’t like it then you won’t be very bothered about wasting the £10. I said previously too that a subscription box is basically a lucky dip.

Feel free to check me out on social media too, I do follow back.
